My Dangerous Obsession
I am a huge fan of Dirt Bike Riding. Recently, I managed to achieve a goal of mine – which was to jump a small ravine at our local bike track.
Now humour me for a moment … I promise that there is a point to all of this.
Now, not only did I make the jump, but I did it without breaking any bones, which is a lot more important these days than it was in my teens.
Now, as I started riding pretty late in life, I did not have the luxury of learning like many other riders I know i.e. trial and error, broken bones & rehab. I had to learn from those riders who were already doing it successfully. By modelling what they did, listening to what they had to say and pretty much leveraging on their learning, I achieved my goal without injury.
As business owners, this idea of modelling is vitally important. Unless you are McDonalds or Coke, with a ‘squillion’ dollar marketing budget, you don’t have room for too much error.
And this is the point of my little story; you don’t have to recreate the wheel in your business. In fact – Don’t be Creative. It is too expensive. Model others and get rich. Don’t waste time striving to discover new ideas when someone else has already carved a profitable path to the success that you want.
Over the next few weeks, I will be giving you some genuine, tried and tested LOW COST marketing strategies that small business owners like yourself have used to generate immediate profits in their business.

Cool as Zane. I used to ride motorcross bikes for years but haven’t had one for about 4 yrs now. Loved going to the tracks near my old home regularly with my nephew who was sponsored by Yamaha. Well done.
